The concept of 'hydrogen rich water' itself
was born nowhere but here in Japan. It isbecause Japan is a country of exceptionally
'soft' water which has made it possible to develop water devices about half a century ago to reform water by way of electrolysis (electrolysis of hard water is not possible because of rapid plating of electrodes) which produces cathodic as well as anodic water. Cathodic water has been confirmed
to contain hydrogen increased by 500 times compared to original water before electrolysis (birth of the concept of hydrogen rich water) for the first time in 1995 by Hayahi.
Increased hydrogen content in cathodic water, however, can be lost very quickly,
several minutes after electrolysis for hydrogen is the lightest gas in the whole universe.
In order to overcome such shortage of cathodic water, a new procedure has been invented by Hayashi in Sept.2001,so called 'Hydrogen Producing Mineral(HPM)' stick, which
makes it possible to produce hydrogen rich water constantly as long as sticks are put
insidethe bottle with water. Hydrogen rich water is produced on the chemical reaction
below.
HPM stick is of cylindrical shape of 20
×120 mm in which
magnesium granules as well as mineral rich natural stones are enclosed. HPM stick
produces hydrogen rich water very simply, definitely and cheaply,i.e.20 cents
a day or several dollars a month.
